Colostomy UK is a charity that works hard to empower people living with any type of stoma to live life to the fullest. They help ostomates get the right support at the right time and raise awareness about stomas in the public eye. We are delighted to support this fantastic charity that does so much for the stoma community.
Their origin team plays a range of rules depending on their opponent, including both touch rugby and full contact rugby, and they also offer walking rugby sessions. They have both Physical Disability Rugby League and Wheelchair Rugby League teams who play fixtures across the country. The team was formed in 2018 and the wheelchair team was formed in 2024.
Their teams are welcoming to all genders, ages and abilities (whether you have a stoma or not) and are tackling stoma stigma head-on! Their aim is to challenge people’s perceptions of what is possible with a stoma – even full contact sport! Find out more about Team Colostomy UK here.
